2016 Equine Canada Rule Change Proposals Welcomed until May 31, 2015

All Equine Canada (EC) members are invited to submit suggestions for 2016 rule changes by using the 2016 Rule Change Suggestion (RCS) submission form, available here. All RCS forms must be returned to EC by May 31, 2015. Completed forms can be submitted by email to rules@equinecanada.ca or by fax to 1-888-713-3315.

It is the right of every EC member to propose amendments to the rules, subject to the current policies, procedures and schedules.

All submitted suggestions will be reviewed by the National Rules Committee and the Discipline/Breed Rules Committees. The RCS submissions will then be posted on the EC website here, beginning Sept. 1, 2015, to allow for a 30-day member review.  During the review period, members are encouraged to read the proposals and offer comments. The deadline for member comments is Sept. 30, 2015.

At the close of the member comment period, the National Rules Committee and the respective Discipline/Breed Rules Committees will review and consider pertinent public comments and make any modifications, corrections, and/or withdrawals by Oct. 15, 2015.

Finalized rule changes will be posted on the EC website by Dec. 1, 2015 and will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2016.

If you have any comments or questions regarding the EC rules process, please contact Kari Ross, Equine Canada Coordinator, Competition Services, Equine Medications, Human Medications & Rules at rules@equinecanada.ca.
