McNab Riding School started as a very small riding school in 2010. We focus on starting young children and have many that have been here since the beginning, now some even in University still come back and spend whatever time they can in the barn. Over the course of our 12 years we have developed a membership program which is designed to maximize supervised barn time and promote a safe and fun equestrian experience for young students who are not yet ready to be at the stable on their own time. It enables children ages 6 – 16 years of age to feel part of the McNab team, builds confidence, and provides them a learning experience with horses far greater than a riding lesson environment alone can achieve. Our members participate in a 16 week program both spring and fall and have first priority for spots in our other activities such as Summer Camps, Clinics, and McNab in-house shows. During each 16 week session members come to the barn for 2.5 hours each Saturday where staff supervisors and volunteers are on-site to engage the children in all aspects of all basic horsemanship. Riding lessons are incorporated into their respective program either on Saturday or during the week depending on their levels. Different leasing options are also available to the students once they have developed the necessary skills to ride on their own calendar with an adult supervisor.
We now stable 12 school ponies/horses everywhere from lunge line specialists for beginners to Derby & Cross-Country mounts.
