Rich Local History
Wesley Clover Parks has been home to a riding school since the 1970s. Many people had their first riding lesson at what was then the Nepean National Equestrian Park.
Today we’re building on that rich history by offering all riders — many of them the children or grandchildren of those who first rode here decades ago — an opportunity to experience the many benefits of equestrianism. And, because we’re just a 15-minute drive from downtown Ottawa, and accessible by bicycle and public transit — it’s easy for you to make riding part of your weekly routine.
The school facility has five outdoor sand rings and a 22,000 square foot indoor arena.
While our key focus is to introduce new riders to the sport, we have programs designed for all levels of recreational and competitive riders. Working with Ian Millar — Olympic silver medalist and 10-time Canadian Olympian — the school’s curriculum is based on Ian’s decades of experience, and his own personal approach that’s been the foundation for many world-class riders.
