Endurance Canada Hall of Fame and the Ron Janzen Memorial Awards

Endurance Canada is now accepting nominations for the following awards:

Endurance Canada Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame Award is presented to a member of the Canadian endurance community in recognition of their long-term commitment and active involvement, as well as their outstanding contributions and participation in Endurance Canada or in the sport of endurance riding in Canada.

Ron Janzen Memorial

The Ron Janzen Memorial Trophy is given to the Endurance Canada member who best displays the same goals, vision and ethics as Ron Janzen, a long-term enthusiast of endurance riding.  He passed away on January 6th, 2008 at the young age of 52, leaving behind his loving wife, Christine, and children, Brett and Jaylene. Ron was a superb athlete and dedicated much of his time to the sport of long distance riding in Canada and internationally.

The recipient will display some or all of the following qualities:

  1. volunteers time, effort and energy to better the sport of endurance riding in Canada;
  2. a willingness to help others;
  3. has assisted ride management or managed a ride/competition sanctioned by Endurance Canada;
  4. displays organization and knowledge of duties; and
  5. shares knowledge to those who are new to the sport.

Please complete the nomination forms found on the Endurance Canada section of the Equine Canada website. Use as much detail as you like in describing him/her as the worthy recipient of the specific award. Forward the completed nomination form by December 15, 2014, to Equine Canada, c/o Wendy Gayfer.
