A little about Monica Theodorescu:
Monica Theodorescu grew up in Sassenberg, working as an interpreter and translator in five different languages before she became a professional rider and trainer.
For more than 35 years, Theodorescu was one of Germany’s best dressage riders, placing first in the World Cup Finals (1993 and ‘94), achieving Gold in the Olympics (1988, 1992, and ‘96) and World Championship (1990), winning Gold with the team and Bronze as an individual. Her record also includes several medals at the European and national championships.
Even though Theodorescu retired from active competition, her love for the equestrian sport and equines alike has not changed. She continues riding, coaching, and passing down the gift of knowledge to her students as the German national dressage coach, the first woman to have ever been selected for this role (appointed in 2012).
On a total interim score of 242,392 points, Germany is currently in the lead in the Nations Cup. In her 7 years as coach, the German National Dressage team has won Gold in the Nation’s Cup for 6 of those years.
