2025 Competition Memberships
Ontario Equestrian works closely with the provincial discipline associations, allowing you to compete at sanctioned competitions across the province at all levels. A separate membership may be required to compete or earn points toward year-end championships. You may purchase provincial discipline association memberships when purchasing or renewing your Ontario Equestrian membership, or you can add discipline memberships to an existing Ontario Equestrian membership.
Dressage
If you are competing in Dressage in Ontario, you may want to add an Ontario Dressage membership to your OE membership. Ontario Dressage oversees the silver dressage competition circuit and championships along with offering many events, clinics and programs throughout the year. Ontario Dressage memberships are not mandatory to compete, however are required to be included in the Ontario Dressage programs including year-end awards.

Competition Membership Requirements
Eventing
If you are competing in Eventing in Ontario, you will need an Ontario Eventing Association (OEA) membership added to your Ontario Equestrian membership. The Ontario Eventing Association (OEA) is committed to the promotion and development of Eventing in Ontario by offering clinics, education and hosting provincial leaderboards. An OEA membership is required to compete at Horse Trials competitions in Ontario.
Eventing Competitions in Ontario are Sanctioned by Equestrian Canada (EC). A list of Eventing Competitions can be found on the EC Events Calendar
OEA memberships can be purchased through the Ontario Equestrian membership system.
Competition Membership Requirements
*Day memberships may be purchased at each competition, instead of a full OEA membership. Please note, when a day membership is used, points earned at the event do not count toward your OEA year-end points.
If the rider is not the horse owner, the owner must also hold an EC Sport License at the same level as the horse is competing.
Hunter/Jumper
If you are competing in Hunter or Jumper in Ontario, you may want a Trillium Hunter Jumper Association or Ontario Hunter Jumper Association membership, depending on the circuit you are competing on.
Trillium Hunter Jumper Association
The Trillium Hunter Jumper Association (THJA) exists to provide a sanctioned, bronze, and silver-level, hunter/jumper circuit across the Province. THJA allows equestrians the opportunity to compete, grow and develop their horsemanship and sportsmanship skills. Trillium Hunter Jumper Association membership is not mandatory to compete, however is required to be included in Trillium Hunter Jumper Association programs including year-end awards.

Ontario Hunter Jumper Association
The Ontario Hunter Jumper Association (OHJA) supports equestrian athletes on what’s known as the ‘A’ circuit or Gold Level. This support covers all levels of training and competition, including year-end awards and qualification for the national championship at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Ontario Hunter Jumper Association membership is not mandatory to compete, however is required to be included in the Ontario Hunter Jumper Association programs including year-end awards.
