The Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) has announced that there have been no reports of any further clinical cases of EHV-1 in horses stabled in the Lower Barn of the Campbellville Training Centre. ORC Manager of Veterinary Services, Dr. Adam Chambers, confirms that horses stabled in this barn will be allowed to enter races and physically attend Ontario racetracks.
The restrictions on horses stabled at les Cedres in Quebec also will be lifted on June 4,2013.
In mid-May there were confirmed reports of EHV-1 in two Standardbreds in Ontario that either were, or are at, the Campbellville Training Centre. No horses stabled at the affected training centre from April 29, 2013 were allowed to race in Ontario until the restrictions were lifted.
