| Friday January 15, 2021 Dear Members, Thank you for your patience and trust as we navigate new rules and restrictions related to the recent Emergency Declaration and Stay-at-Home order announced by the Province. The Stay-at-Home order is now in effect (as of Thursday, January 14 at 12:01 a.m.) and is anticipated to be in place until at least Thursday, February 11, 2021. The Stay-at-Home order requires every individual to remain in their place of residence at all times unless leaving their place of residence is necessary for one or more of the purposes identified in the order: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/210011 We have received many emails and phone calls from members across the Province. We want to try to address the most recurring questions based on the information available to us. This is not legal advice. The guidance and orders provided by the local public health unit must be followed. Boarders: A horse’s owner or their representative may attend to the health and welfare of their horse. Outdoor Riding: Appears to be permitted for limited purposes: – for the purpose of exercising by using ‘horse riding facilities’ (which are included in the list of ‘outdoor recreational amenities’ that are permitted to be open if they comply with all relevant requirements). Please see: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/210011 Schedule 1, section 1(1)16(ii) – Social distancing and mask wearing is encouraged. Gathering limits must be respected. We need to be community leaders, look after our horses and do our part to help flatten the COVID-19 curve. We ask that you work together with the owner of your boarding facility, respect their wishes, and their protocols to help protect them, their family and the staff supporting the health and welfare of your horse.
