Confirmed case of EHV-1 at Assiniboia Downs

The Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) notes that the Manitoba Horse Racing Commission has issued a release confirming a case of neurological Equine Herpes Virus-1 (EHV-1) at Assiniboia Downs, a racetrack located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The ORC is closely monitoring the situation.

While the quarantine at Assiniboia is in effect, trainers of horses that have been on the grounds of this track since April 15, and considering shipping horses to Woodbine or Fort Erie, must first contact the Official Vet at Woodbine or Ft. Erie.
