Ontario’s Guide to Reopening Equine Businesses

It’s Time to Prepare.

As the Province and Public Health Agency begin to reopen businesses, Ontario Equestrian has been working to advocate for the equine sector to be in the first phase of opening. We need all equine businesses to prepare now, so that WHEN we are given the green-light, we will be able to begin the process.

Below you will find Ontario’s Guide to Reopening Equine Businesses

We ask that you please be proactive and prepare your business to reopen based on this document which includes Equestrian Canada’s “Return to Business Operations Framework”, as well as additional information that will give you insight on the many areas you need to consider before you are ready to open.

Government and Public Health Officials will be the ones to give us the approval to reopen. These guidelines will assist you to properly return to business in a graduated and safe manner.

Ontario Equestrian has sent this document to the following Ministers to illustrate that we have the proper protocols in place to open safely:

  • Minister MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Cultural Industries
  • Minister Hardeman, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
  • Minister Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Long Term Care

All three Ministers also sit on the Ontario Jobs and Recovery Committee.
